Our unique selling point
Our product portfolio is also our unique selling point. Many items are exclusively available from us. We only source products from other companies if they fill a gap in our assortment and can be meaningfully integrated. Our team is always ready to assist all our customers with advice and support. Our hierarchy is extremely flat, and we make decisions for the benefit of and in agreement with our customers. As firefighters, we demonstrate our connection to the front lines and naturally use the informal "you" when we recognize someone as a member of the fire service. For us, acting in the best interests of our customers, friendliness, and a thorough and well-founded exchange of information with our customers are standard practice.
Our story
The true genesis of Feuerkids® can be traced back to 2013. Carmen and Benjamin Thoran were at the fire station's training ground with the kids from their fire brigade group and were incredibly frustrated with the existing bib bands. They had been using them during a drill to keep track of who was doing what. However, putting on and tying the bibs took so much time that a different solution was needed. This was the genesis of the vests. Together, they brainstormed which other equipment urgently needed to be made more child-friendly. Many ideas quickly emerged, and they began developing the missing pieces of equipment. In 2015, after their innovations generated demand within the fire service community, they founded their own company.
Our company philosophy
Feuerkids® offers quality gear from practical experience for practical application. We design and develop equipment to increase and promote recruitment within fire departments by making it more attractive. Quality and durability are more important to us than production costs. Only high-quality equipment can last and symbolically represents recognition of volunteer service.
We rely on suppliers and manufacturers from Germany and the EU. Only if goods are not produced within this economic area do we look for alternatives worldwide. We are very critical of purchasing goods from low-wage countries. Companies that do not establish and adhere to social standards are fundamentally out of the question for us as partners.
As a "partner of the fire department," we also adhere to societal standards. All our employees are volunteer firefighters whom we readily release for their training and community service. Furthermore, we do not claim compensation for lost wages from the fire department's sponsoring organization; rather, we see it as our civic duty to contribute fully to maintaining the safety of the people in our city.
